Course Overview
The ECDL is a European initiative to provide a tangible certification
programme for general computer useage in business today. It has been
developed by the European Commission after considerable research and
testing across Europe. In Ireland it is administered and audited by
ECDL Ireland which appoint and approve testing centres. A similar
system works in other countries.
The
ECDL certificate consists of seven core units which are considered
fundamental to the use of modern computer systems found in most
businesses today. The Licence is recognised across Europe and is likely
to become a standard requirement over the coming years. Anyone wishing
to get the certificate must sit seven short exams covering: IT
Concepts, File Management, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and
internet. |
